I take medication for high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol. I used to be stubborn but now I avoid pizza, coke(the drink), chocolates, shrimp and I'm happier for it since I plan on living a great quality of life forever! Also, I have controled my temper which has helped with my blood pressure.

As is explained in the Disney movie Atlantis, the 4 basic food groups are: Bacon, Beans, Whiskey and Lard.
Since Bacon is the first one on the list, it must be the most important. Therefore, my response to the doctor would also be NO!!!!!
Seriously, what high number is the doctor using to justify removing bacon from your diet? If there is some actual scientific or medical reason, then it would make sense. But, there must be irrefutable evidence that eliminating bacon from your diet will make a significant difference.

Lard? Woa Nellie! My mom always had that giant can of Crisco on the counter and putting it in everything. It has not done my cardiovascular health any favors to date. Do you use it regularly?
