Prospecting, finding new clients has always been more difficult than staying in touch with former clients and asking them for referrals. But if one wants to expand ones business, prospecting should be a good part of it....
So how does one successfully contact and connect with someone one does not know.....
I know it is always said, offer them something for nothing and they will read your message, how does one know what a particular person may be interested in. Does it have to be something FREE that will automatically interest everyone.

That's a really interesting question, FineHomes. To some extent you can customize your offering to the audience you are targeting, but in a market as broad as real estate, how do you offer something of value to everyone? I am excited to hear responses to your question!

Good morning. I have recently started using Jigsaw for prospecting and have reached out to potential new contacts on here. I have found that I have not had to offer them anything, but asking them for assistance has seemed to work well. I am asking them to just get me to the person who I can send my information to, and on many occasions they have been happy to do so.
Although free works well too, I don't always think people are looking for somethign for free and sometimes it's just not necessary. I only send one email, and if they don't respond, I don't add them to mailing lists or continue to follow up but leave that ball in their court to respond at their convenience. Sometimes it takes weeks for a response, but I would say that out of every 10 potential contacts I reach out to, I get 2-3 responses of some kind.
