At Connect, we know that community members have rich insights about the contacts you do business with, in addition to the contact info you already trade. So, with this release we've expanded Connect to enable trusted members at the Closer, Maven, and Rainmaker tiers to share information about their contacts' job responsibilities with the community. With this additional information - that is only available on Connect - members can prospect more efficiently by targeting contacts with the appropriate responsibilities.
The pilot has been live for over a month now and we have been busy analysing results through usage data, interviews, and a survey that went out to all pilot members - you’ve given us some great feedback! We’re happy to report that we’re seeing a strong number of our members contributing responsibilities data when prompted - proving that our members are able and willing to share deeper contact insights beyond business card data! We are expanding the taxonomy of job responsibilities very soon, and we are investigating features that will allow members to contribute deeper insights about the contacts that they own.
We want to reiterate that this model of sharing is in no way tied to user ratings. Members do not get points for responsibility contributions, and are not penalized if other members vote differently. Since perceptions of job responsibilities between two members can be different based on their interactions with the same contact, we are adopting a give-to-get contribution model for responsibilities, similar to other community sites like Yelp or Amazon, where members share insights about contacts in order to learn more from the rest of the community. We believe that this model will reduce the motivation for fraud while enriching the insights around the contacts that you do business with.
We’re excited to continue to expand Connect in new directions! As always, thank for your support and we look forward to hearing from you!
