Recently, the European Union passed the Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The change applies to all companies processing the personal data of data subjects residing in the EU, regardless of the company’s location. To be compliant with the new regulation, as of January 5, 2018, Data.com Connect will no longer accept contacts or companies in the UK and Ireland. Contacts previously purchased in those countries will no longer be available to you, and we will be removing all individuals and companies in those countries from the site.
Below are a list of FAQs to address your potential questions.
What happens to contacts and companies in the UK and Ireland that are already in the database?
By March 12, 2018, all contacts and companies will be removed from the database. You will no longer be able to search for or purchase contacts in these countries.
Are contacts disappearing from my purchased lists?
Yes, they will be removed from your purchased lists. Additionally, when you download an older export, names of individuals in these countries will be removed from the file.
And contacts in my Royalty Owned lists?
Yes. And as with purchased contacts, when you download an older export, names of individuals in these countries will be removed from the file.
Will I get to keep the Royalty Points earned on these contacts?
Yes, you will keep the points you’ve earned to date, but will not earn any points once the contact is removed.
What happens when I upload a bounce report with contacts in these countries?
Any files containing domains in the UK or Ireland will not be processed. You will have to remove those contacts and resubmit the file.
What about list suppression files?
List suppression files also cannot contain contacts in the UK or Ireland.
What about companies in the UK and Ireland?
We will no longer accept companies in the UK or Ireland.
What countries will Data.com Connect support moving forward?
We will continue to support Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the USA.

@EmailBandDC Since the UK is withdrawing from the European Union ("Brexit"), are there any thoughts about restoring the contacts after the anticipated exit date of 30 March 2019? Can Data.com archive those contacts or would that be a violation of EU regulations? Thank you in advance for any response.

So does this mean that basically all of my points are now redundant and there wasn't even any warning that this was going to happen, so no opportunity to put them to good use before that?

Update: With our previous announcement to adhere to GDPR compliancy, contacts and companies were originally projected to be removed between January 15 and January 21, 2018.
Additional testing essential to be compliant with the new regulation has intermittently delayed this removal, and we will be targeting a new date range of February 12 to February 16, 2018 to enact the change. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any confusion this caused.
