Where I live, the temperature will be 60 degrees warmer than it was a week ago. Let the thaw begin! I shouldn't celebrate too soon, it'll be back in the teens this weekend. Oh well, I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

same! it was -1 last week (F), right now it's about 58! On the drive in I heard it will be in the teens again this weekend. Very strange... What area of the world are you in, @Granbit? I'm in NJ, just outside of NYC.

apparently there was a fire at a power plant that knocked out power for 50,000 people across three counties. I'm not sure if everyone is back up, but the power was out here for about two hours. Fortunately I work in a building with backup power for our backup power, so other than hearing the generators running it wasn't too bad.
