Last week, we announced our 22 new Data.com Connect Champions, a group of outstanding members being recognized for their contributions to the community in one or more of 5 areas:
User Group Leaders
This week, let’s get down to business and talk about the details of being a Data.com Connect Champion.
First, the criteria
Each of the 5 areas has different criteria for what makes someone exceptional. However, every single Champion shares these qualities as base criteria:
Member for 1 year
Leader in the community
Knows and employs data contribution best practices
Because a Champion is something really special, what's listed above is required just to be considered. From there, Data.com will select Champions who will be a good fit in the group.
Next, the timing
We’ll choose a new class of Champions every 6 months. Although being in one Champion class doesn’t automatically make you part of the next, a person can be selected again if they continue to excel. Better yet, they may excel in new areas they haven’t tried yet, or even all 5! Someone who excels in all 5 Champion areas in one of the 6-month evaluation period will become part of the Gold Circle Club.
Finally, the perks
Each Connect Champion will receive a few perks as a thank you for all of their hard work:
Champion polo shirt
Champion plaque for their desk
Their name on a Champion plaque at the Data.com office
A customized avatar for The Corner with badges for their specific areas
Access to exclusive Champion conference calls to stay abreast of Data.com Connect news
Each week for the next 5 weeks, we’ll post a similar blog diving into the details of one of the 5 areas so you’ll know exactly what it takes to become a Champion in that area. I look forward to seeing many new names on the Winter 2013 plaque!
