It seems very strange to me that I can't update the business card information of a contact I don't own -- just the name and title, without an option to do things like adding a direct dial number. Why is this the case?

@GoodHead4, I think you answered your own question. Those are the rules. You must own the contact to make a major updates, including updates to address, phone & email. This was not always the case. It used to be possible to manually add a contact that was already i the database to reveal the complete contact card (for free), which could then be updated or not. Most likely this was turned off to prevent fraud and preserve data quality. Users are less likely to bogus a contact for +5 points if there is no net gain because they previously had to purchase a contact (-5pts). Likewise, users that owned a contact are more trusted. Same reason why you cant update a contact twice in 30 days for more points. The only exception is direct dial (+10 points). You do not need to own a contact to make Minor Updates including updates to name & title.

Thanks, I didn't know that. I also had a whole reply typed up about how it seemed strange that there'd be no incentive to add direct dials, but just noticed those give 10 points if you buy the contact for 5, rendering my criticism invalid!

@GoodHead4, there is one exception where the extra +5 points for a direct dial. If there was previously a direct dial associated with the contact, the extra +5 points will not be awarded, even if the previous direct dial was incorrect or was the main number with extension. Contact Update History, which you will find beneath the contact, is only visible if the contact is 'owned'. You can see in the contact history every update made to the contact. Often I will find valid direct dial or good email (if the one on the card is bad) by looking through the contact update history.

Your software is ineffective. I cannot add a new Contact to an existing company because when I do, and type in the CORRECT company address, I receive a default message to type in the correct address. I AM typing in the correct address! The WRONG address was allowed for the company in the first place. The address for Taos Mountain Casino that is in your system is "1 mile north of". That is NOT an address! The correct address for the Taos Mountain Casino is 700 Veterans Highway. Look for yourself https://500nations.com/casinos/nmTaosMountain.asp

@WiseFavor84, ordinarily all street addresses in the United States must match the USPS address database or it will not be accepted. I looked up this address and tried it, but it didnt work... If this address is on Taos Reservation land, which may be outside USPS jurisdiction, that could be a reason. I suggest you reach out to support and open a support ticket as the Support Team does not view posts in this board as it is user based.
