Yesterday I attempted to purchase four contact reports for USD20. I am in New Zealand with a NZ credit card. The payment was not accepted and I assumed this was because of geographic restrictions. My business partner also tried with his credit card that is in USD. Again the order could not be processed.
Today we log into our online banking and see data.com has put through USD $1 charges on our credit card as "

Can a rep please urgently explain WHY this has happened when there was NO notice that a pre-auth transaction would be posted and to add insult to injury, your system would not process our order? There was no follow up email or pop up screen to say the order was pending credit card authorisation and to 'try again later".
I am VERY nervous that this is seems to be simply skimming off credit cards and very frustated by the lack of explanation and ability to contact support.
