I didn't explain that well. "Phone number is not direct dial +5 points" is not an option because there is NOT really a direct dial associated with the contact. It just shows up as if there is a direct dial. Because there's no direct dial, when I look at the contact card, the "...not direct dial" option is actually "Phone number is incorrect." "Update business card info" doesn't work either because it would require I make a change to the main phone number (which is correct).

@plaide88x, not all contacts have a direct dial. However, if they do, there is an icon on the contact card of a phone with an arrow. This icon is not present, there is no direct dial. Was this icon present but there was no direct dial? Or were you just not aware of this distinction? Unfortunately, the only way to recoup your 5 points is to update the contact. i suggest you look up the contact in LinkedIn. More often than not, the contact has a new title or is at a different location. I scrub every contact i purchase in LinkedIn. More often than not I recoup my 5 points for improving the contact with a better title or address. Its win-win becuase I get the contact and spent zero net points. If the contact card says a different city name than Linked-In, when you update the contact you can search for locations already in Connect. Simply select the location that matches the city in LinkedIn. If there is more than one location, pick one as its closer/better/more accurate than a completely different city even though somewhat speculative.

Thx for the reply. (Been using Data.com daily since 2008 Yes, the DD icon is there both in the contacts list and the contact's card (see below the DD icon in both locations). It's not a big deal to lose the 5 points, but just frustrating especially when I find this more and more often. I think something's broken. You'll see in the card below (when mouseover on contact list), it shows two phone numbers (including the DD).
BUT! When you click on the contact's link and look at the "real" contact card, it only shows one number – the DD number is not there (see below). So something's screwed up in the Data.com system.

@plaide88x, I strongly suggest you bring this issue to the attention of the Support Team as they do not view these boards which are only user to user. That way they can identify the issue and correct it. Bugs need to be fixed. There should not be a direct dial icon with a duplicative main number.
