I'm all for new but COME ON!
You cannot filter a company directory by name as you could in the old UI...that was a useful tool. Thnx.
No LinkedIn/Google quick links any more - silly me, here I was thinkn they were gonna add even more links like a Bing/Blekko quick search links to enhance the Google lnk and/or even a Twitter (or similar) lnk to go along LinkedIn one - bummer, now there's none. We can still get the work done with copy/paste (or highlight/right click/search Google) - which is more work for users. Thnx
You can't read an entire person's name in UI directory view (I know - u can hover the mouse over it to read it) - More work for user who want to see what should be in plain site - like in the old UI. Thnx
I like new UI speeds in general but not while removing very helpful features.
So what was the goal of new UI?
Like KD says....Just some thoughts...

My understanding that the biggest reason to go to the new UI is because the old site was built on old, rickety, and difficult to maintain platform. Although there are plenty of growing pains associated with switching over to the new platform, it is my understanding that once that is done the site will be much easier to maintain, and upgrade.
I know, I know.... Patience isn't what I am know for around here. But eventually the new UI should be as good as the old. And more robust.

No more ability to edit my posts.
I apologize for my poor sentence structure in the previous post.
Sigh.... What next?

Perhaps learning to crawl before walking before jogging before running before sprinting (pun) is in order - the old UI is WAY MORE USEFUL AND LESS TIME WASTING than the new lipstick.
The goal of any revision of software should be to empower the user base, especially core users.
They should have replicated the old site first - then tinkered with it to enhance it. Wholesale tossing of useful features like being able to add notes to a contact card is pointless, clueless and I could do better and I haven't coded for 20 years!
Not listening to your core users is INSANE! Enuf....out of here
