For the 2nd half of 2017 and beyond I'm going to try and land a multi million dollar contract which I really wasn't aiming for in the past.
Anyone ever land one that you can share your thoughts on good or bad?

The largest single deal I ever landed singlehanded was US$16.7M. I've also had many others that were >US$1M.
These large deals can take a long time to cultivate, and it is extremely satisfying when you close them. But, if your meat and potatoes are smaller, quicker deals then that's where I'd focus the time and efforts.

What sector are you in? Also what sector did you sell to that 16.7 million dollar deal?
I realize it's not going to happen overnight and I have my residuals customers coming in but want to lay the foundation for getting those type larger deals sooner rather than later.

Currently, I'm in the insurance sector - group benefits.
I used to be in industrial manufacturing for mining, automotive, power generation, and other sectors. I've had >$1M deals in all sectors, but the largest deals all came from mining.

I am in technology and last year had 4 million dollar plus deals. They do take a long deal to culivate and are pretty technical sales. Well worth the hard work because the commission checks are sweet!!
