I watched a discovery special the other night about how robots are the new blue collar workers. There is always the example of robotic arms taking over the assembly line jobs in the auto industry. Robots you need an advanced degree to operate and program. Then I came across a TEDx presentation showcasing a robot that a house wife could program. The point was made that the robot would not be a replacement but a tool to alleviate the stresses of repetative labor.
And so the e-Commerce sites could be part of the tool kit used by salesmen to make the job less arduous and more productive.
Much like Jigaw and Salesforce. Imagine that.

I found this posting from five years ago and it's like a Nostradamus like doom phophecy as more and more salesjobs go the way of Blockbuster and the dodo bird.
